So, how does the Mercedes-Benz S-Class electric differ from the traditional gas-powered version you see on the Roslyn roads?
- Engine: The S-Class runs on a base 429-hp 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine, paired with an EQ Boost and electric auxiliary compressor. The Mercedes-Benz EQS generates 329 hp from its electric engine and battery.
- Acceleration: The base S 500 4MATIC® Sedan surges from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds, while the EQS 480+ takes 5.5 seconds and the EQS 580 4MATIC® takes only 4.1 seconds.
- Fueling: The S-Class utilizes gas at a regular pump, while the EQS runs solely on electricity – taking as little as 31 minutes on a DC fast charger to go from 10% battery to fully charged.
- Price: While the official Mercedes-Benz Electric S-Class price has yet to be revealed, rumors have this luxury EV starting at $103,360 MSRP. The S-Class 500 4MATIC® Sedan currently starts at $109,800 MSRP*.
