What Does DISTRONIC PLUS® Do?
DISTRONIC PLUS® is an advanced adaptive cruise control system that operates when you press the vehicle’s cruise control button. With DISTRONIC PLUS®, your Mercedes-Benz C-Classorother Mercedes-Benz model will automatically brake and accelerate to keep a set distance between your vehicle and the one in front.
At what speeds is DISTRONIC PLUS® able to operate?
DISTRONIC PLUS® can function at a variety of speeds, from 0 to 125 mph. By using as much as 40% of the vehicle’s braking speed, DISTRONIC PLUS® is able to keep a safe distance in stop and start traffic. Need more than 40%? DISTRONIC PLUS® will alert you if more braking force is necessary.
What if there’s no vehicle in front of me?
If traffic clears up and there’s no vehicle in front of you, DISTRONIC PLUS® operates in exactly the same way as the regular cruise control system at speeds from 20 to 125 mph.
How do I activate and interact with DISTRONIC PLUS®?
All you have to do is push the stalk on the left-hand side of the steering column up or down until its resistance increases or decreases speed by 1 mpg. At the same time, pushing past the point of resistance lets you increase or decreases speed up to 5 mph
